## Families and quick access to the last inserted element

A small mark in the corner indicates that related options are available. Click again or press and hold the tool to open its family. Select includes **Lasso select** (Q) and **Eyedropper** (I). Pen includes **Marker** (M). Shape includes **Ellipse** (O) and **Diamond** (D). Connector includes **Line** (L). Quick access to the last inserted element, when it appears, repeats that element type; it is not another fixed tool.

> **Important:** Single-letter shortcuts work on the board, not inside the text or cell you are editing. Click outside the editor before you switch tools. On iPhone, the compact bar includes Select, Pen, Eraser, Text and Sticky note; use the actions available in its companion interface.
