**Highlighter** adds transparent marks to emphasize text, a figure or an area without hiding the information. It is useful when reviewing notes and PDFs.

> **Important:** Activation: choose **Highlighter** on the toolbar or in its family. Shortcut: Shift+M.

## How to use it

1. Choose **Highlighter** and adjust color and thickness.
2. Drag over the passage or area you want to emphasize.

*Review a document*

3. On PDF text, use the highlight that snaps to words and check which ones were included.
4. Move the page to check that its annotations follow it. Use the annotated PDF export to return the review.

> **Expected result:** The highlighted area stays readable and the annotation can be undone.

> **Example:** Highlight the deadline in a specification and place a note with the required action.

## Common mistake and how to fix it

Highlighting does not change the original text. If you mark the wrong passage, undo and repeat at a higher zoom.
