**Eraser** removes strokes. Partial erasing lets you remove part of a drawn line without erasing everything nearby. The eraser end of a compatible pen also works for corrections.

> **Important:** Activation: choose **Eraser** on the toolbar or in its family. Shortcut: E.

## How to use it

1. Choose **Eraser**.
2. Pass it over the strokes you want to remove. Zoom in to work precisely.
3. Check what is left. Undo right away if you erased too much.
4. To remove a note, shape, image or table, choose Select and use the delete action on the object.

> **Expected result:** The intended stroke is removed and the rest of the objects stay.

> **Example:** Erase the end of a drawn arrow and point it at the correct note again.

## Common mistake and how to fix it

Eraser does not remove the original text of a PDF or empty a cell. Use the matching editor, or select and delete the object on the board.
