**Ellipse** creates a rounded shape from the Shape family. Use it for a start, an end or a concept you want to set apart from a rectangular step.

> **Important:** Activation: choose **Ellipse** on the toolbar or in its family. Shortcut: O.

## How to use it

1. Open the Shape family and choose **Ellipse**.
2. Draw the ellipse and add a clear label.
3. Adjust size, fill and border. Add connectors when it is part of a diagram.

> **Expected result:** The rounded shape is an editable element.

> **Example:** Place a Start ellipse before the first step and an End ellipse after the last one.

## Common mistake and how to fix it

The shape does not start or end a real automated task. The label and the diagram show what it does.
